Historical Context

The Levittown Union Free School District (LUFSD) is located in Levittown, New York, a hamlet of Nassau County. It comprises Levittown as well as surrounding sections of Wantagh, Seaford, Plainedge, and Hicksville. The District continues to expand its offerings and change shape as the needs of its community are constantly in flux. Yearbooks produced over the years by schools within the District reflect the dynamism and evolution of the LUFSD and its community.

The LUFSD currently owns and operates six elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools. Three elementary schools and one high school previously operated by the District were closed due to declining enrollment.

Scope of Collection

This collection includes yearbooks from General Douglas Mac Arthur High School, Division Avenue High School, and Levittown Memorial High School. The earliest yearbook dates back to 1955.

The Library continues to add to this collection on an annual basis. Books published 20 or more years ago are made available digitally. More recent yearbooks and yearbooks from the elementary and middle schools are available in the library for on-site research only.
