About
The Niagara County Historical Society (AKA The Niagara History Center) consists of three sites in Lockport, NY: the main complex at 215 Niagara Street; the Erie Canal Discovery Center near the canal; and the Colonel William Bond/Jesse Hawley House, a historic home on the National Register of Historic Places. Our mission is to preserve, promote and interpret the diverse cultural heritage of the people, places and events related to Niagara County and the Erie Canal. We are a collaborative community resource for lifelong learning for current and future generations. The Niagara History Center is a vital community asset and the catalyst for connecting Niagara County’s past, present and future.
Niagara County Historical Society is a member of the Western New York Library Resources Council.
