Scope of Collection

This collection of twenty-three photo albums document the history of the Seaford Public Library from the unpacking and grand opening at Nelson Verity Plaza to its infancy years as an integral part of the Seaford community in 1956. The photo albums span from 1956 to 2010 with the exception of 1970 to 1981. Some albums also contain (word searchable) newspaper clippings related to events and the staff of the library.

This collection also contains two items from the 325th anniversary of Seaford in 1968, a (word searchable) historical booklet and a slide show created by the librarians of the Seaford Public Library.

These items were digitized and uploaded to New York Heritage through the Seaford Public Library’s partnership with LILRC’s Accessing Archives Program in 2025.
