Beginning in 1979, oral history interviews were conducted with members of the Coe family and those employed by the Coe family to manage Planting Fields and other business endeavors. These interviews were essential to creating a comprehensive history of Planting Fields; the first time such an expansive project was undertaken. In later years, more oral history interviews were conducted with students who studied at Planting Fields during the SUNY years and those involved in the administration.
