Peleg Gifford was a surveyor who extensively surveyed Oneida and nearby counties in upstate New York in the first half of the 1800s. Included in his papers are maps and notes from his surveys of Brothertown and Stockbridge lands sold when these Native American communities moved west and out of New York State.
