Auburn, New York, is a small city in the Finger Lakes region, with large communities of Italian, Polish, Ukrainian, Irish, and German heritage into the mid-20th century. In addition to private Catholic schools, there were three public high schools in the city until the 1970s, when a consolidated Auburn High School opened.
